Description of the Business Unit

The Data team sits within the centralised Analytics Office and has responsibility for the design and functionality of the standard and reporting layer within the AWS data warehouse. This is a newly defined role that allows dedicated focus on getting the foundation established for analytics. The role reports into the Head of New Business and data, with the team being built out over time.

 

Purpose of the Role

As the Data Manager you will have the responsibility to define and built of the data architecture, with a key focus on the standard and reporting layer.

Key Accountabilities:

Define and build out the data architecture for the stand and reporting layer, collaborating closely with the data ops team.

  • Define and built the datamarts required to support the business.
  • Business expert for interpretation of TSYS data.
  • Work closely with departments like operations, finance & commercial to ensure that required data is stored and put in a consumable format to allow monitoring, analysis and improvement of customer journeys.
  • In collaboration with the customer strategy team, facilitate execution and monitoring of balance growth initiatives.
  • Support the structure and querying of data for building of machine learning models, ingesting behavioural, bureau and open banking data.
  • Recruit team members and support development.

Essential skills and Experience

  • 5+ Years experience working in a Credit Card business/division
  • Strong coding skills and understanding of data structures
  • SQL
  • Analytical background
  • Quick learner

 

 

Desirable skills and experience 

  • Experience using AWS environment (Redshift connections, with S3 data lake)
  • Knowledge of Alteryx & Tableau
  • Python/R (for occasional use)
  • Exposure working with varying datasources used within underwriting
  • TSYS raw data / other credit card platform
