IT Business Analyst

Jaja is an innovative UK based consumer finance business, leading initially with a digital credit card launched in 2018, and a pipeline of consumer finance solutions in the making. Working closely with our scheme provider and leveraging our own consumer credit license authorised by FCA, we are challenging an industry that has seen little real innovation in nearly twenty years.

In July 2019 Jaja led a consortium which purchased the Bank of Ireland credit card portfolio, investing over £0.5bn. It also resulted in fresh investments in Jaja from major Private Equity funds who have recognised the change that Jaja is bringing to the market

As a result, the business is growing rapidly and we are on the lookout for great talent across the organisation

About the role

We are on a mission to redefine the consumer finance experience and liberate customers from needless complexity, wasted time and frustration. Or as we say it, Make Simple. We will delight our customers – making the customer experience simpler, more enjoyable, more intelligent – treating customers fairly and giving them more control of their money.

We’re looking for a focused professional who is ready to lead by example and is used to rolling up their sleeves to get things done. The successful candidate will help us confidently flip questions into solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business strategy design requirements into appropriate configuration within our credit card process system and other interfacing systems, checking that the planned change produces the intended results and remains in line with agreed Card risk appetite, strategy and Business rules
  • Manage the technical implementation of major and crucial change projects into our credit card process system and all systems that interface into daily  processing including core applications such as app and statements
  • Provide subject matter expertise to business owners to help drive and shape key business decisions on customer journey, commercial initiatives, fraud strategy etc.
  • Support the control framework ensuring all system changes comply with required regulatory and policy requirements and support the execution of all relevant control framework elements
  • Where significant issues arise that have a high and immediate impact on Card customers, you will own remediation activities from solution design through to implementation and ensure that recovery activities are executed flawlessly
  • Experience of using APIs to execute processes

Required Experience

  • Significant experience of managing configuration parameters in large mainframe systems at portfolio and account level
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge in Credit card industry and with recognized tools
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, industry standard and regulatory projects (i.e. Persistent Debt, PSD2, 3DS)
  • Ability to work con-currently on multiple projects and take ownership of complex work streams and make key contributions
  • Strong VBA and Python skills
