About The Role

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join Jaja’s finance team. This is an exciting time to join Finance as we are working on a significant programme of growth and transformation including a recent upgrade of our General Ledger and ERP System. You will have the opportunity to be part of and shape this transformation and you will help to drive a continuous improvement environment in our processes to become more efficient and effective.

You will support Jaja’s growth by assisting the Finance team in the following activities:

• Managing a team of 3 junior accountants and managing day to day activities (eg. Purchase ledger and bank reconciliations).
• Preparation and analysis of monthly accounting entries, management accounts and board pack including commentary.
• Ensuring Jaja’s financial reporting is aligned with accounting standard FRS 102.
• Ensuring HMRC compliance including VAT returns, corporation, R&D claims and other tax returns/reporting.
• Leading the audit process working closely with our external auditors and advisors
• Working with FP&A team on the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Working closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Finance in developing and documenting scalable finance processes and controls, driving efficiencies within the Finance team and reducing reporting timelines.

 

About You

We are looking for an ambitious individual with a go-getting attitude who can confidently express opinions and provide advice to colleagues and senior stakeholders. You’ll need to be resilient to change; be able to adapt as Jaja Finance continues to transform as its grows and have a natural curiosity to investigate and question results empowering you to make a difference and add value.

You’ll being able to handle complex technical financial accounting issues and communicate them in a simple way. You’ll have strong IT skills, including excel, which are a must as have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will be or have:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with post qualification experience.
• Finance degree or other relevant qualifications (advantageous).
• Experience within Financial Operations / Reporting / Control or within Accountancy Practice (advantageous).
• Strong experience of FRS accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong relationship management skills, with excellent written & verbal communications skills.
