Description of the Business Unit

 

The Financial Control Reconciliations team is responsible for making sure that all credit card financial transactions are accounted for by the credit card system and that all credit card balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a daily basis. This ensures that any transaction which cannot be applied to a customer’s credit card account is investigated and applied to their account in an efficient and timely way. We do this by developing strong working relationships with Operations, Finance and 3rd party suppliers, being knowledgeable about our business, and having a passion for delivering great customer service. We relentlessly look for improvements in the way we run our business.  

 

Purpose of the Role

 

The Financial Control Reconciliations Assistants will carry out the daily reconciliations of all the credit card balance sheet accounts ensuring that all rejects are investigated and actioned.

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Daily balancing of payments and transactions processed by the TSYS credit card system.
  • Daily reconciliation of all payments, settlements, chargebacks and rejects accounts.
  • Ageing of general ledger balance sheet accounts to provide Finance with month end auditable information – escalating issues before month end where necessary.
  • Investigating all reconciling differences in accordance with SLA’s
  • Liaising with the Operations teams both internally and externally on a daily basis.
  • Liaising with the Finance department regarding discrepancies on Bank Reconciliations.
  • Creation and verification of general ledger journals.

 

Other Accountabilities:

 

  • Ensuring all tasks are operated to the highest levels of quality & compliance in line with defined standards and procedures.
  • Assisting the reconciliations team leader with updates to reconciliation procedures as necessary. 

 

 

 

Essential skills and Experience

  • General ledger reconciliation experience
  • Experience of investigating and resolving reconciliation issues
  • A good understanding of balance sheet clearing, holding and suspense accounts
  • Be highly numerate with focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be an accomplished user of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a challenging and fast paced environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Be able to work to strict deadlines and within a team environment

 

Preference for people with previous experience

 

  • working in a credit card reconciliations environment
  • Intellimatch system
